In a powerful scene in The Avengers, a single old German man refuses to bow to Loki. He stands and the two men have this exchange: Loki: “… In the end, you will always kneel.” Old man: “Not to men like you.” “There are no men like me.” “There are always men like you.” A similar exchange is recorded in the book of Moses in the Pearl of Great Price.
